Configure company details and custom fields

Update company details, review processing settings, and manage the fields Clerked shows for that company.

Update company details

  1. Confirm the company in the sidebar. Company settings affect only the selected company.

  2. Open Settings > Company > General. Review the current name and other displayed company controls before editing.

  3. Save and verify the affected workspace. A processing choice can apply only to new work and may not rewrite existing invoices or conversations.

Manage custom fields

Open Settings > Company > Custom fields to review fields defined for the company. Add a field only when it represents a repeatable business value that belongs on records in Clerked.

Use a clear label, suitable data type, and the smallest applicable scope. Before changing or removing a field, check whether invoices, approval policies, filters, saved views, validation, or integrations rely on it.

Route failed-export work

  1. Open Settings > Organization > Roles & permissions. Choose the role responsible for ERP export recovery.

  2. Grant Invoice Export. Users with that permission see recovery Tasks for invoices they can view when there is an action they can take. Keep Export separate from broad invoice Edit so recovery ownership stays explicit.

  3. Save and verify. Confirm an actionable failed export appears as a Resolve Task for an eligible recovery owner. Automatic retries, connection waits, and support-only failures do not create work for AP.

Keep configuration in its owning page

Use Email sending, Email ingestion, Invoice validation, Approval policies, and Integrations for those jobs. Email ingestion keeps sender and attachment choices together, while invoice validation owns the checks that apply after an invoice is created.
