Understand time and cost estimates

Understand the assumptions behind estimated hours saved and cost avoided.

What an estimate means

Hours saved and cost avoided are estimates, not measured labor hours or realized savings. If you receive these figures in a report, read the assumptions alongside the result.

The default calculation assumes 10 minutes saved per processed invoice and a $45 loaded hourly AP cost. Hours saved uses the invoice count and time assumption; cost avoided multiplies those estimated hours by the hourly cost. A report using different assumptions should state them explicitly.

Where to find these figures

The Insights page does not display these time or cost estimates, and Company settings has no control for changing their assumptions.

Explain the result accurately

When sharing an estimate, include its reporting period and assumptions. For measured savings, compare against your own staffing, processing-time, and cost records rather than treating the estimate as proof of a realized reduction.
