Review sender policy and email status
Every selected email has one status banner. It tells you whether the email is being checked, needs a decision, was processed, or is blocked. After attachment analysis, the same banner summarizes the agent's current assessment and the work that still needs a person.
Review a sender decision
- Click Emails in the left sidebar.
- Open Needs Review and select the email.
- Read the sender, message context, and status banner.
- Choose Trust or Block.
The first screen stays intentionally simple. After you choose an intent, the confirmation dialog lets you apply it to the exact sender or the sender's domain.
- Trust this sender adds the exact address to the allowlist.
- Trust this domain adds the domain to the allowlist.
- Block this sender adds the exact address to the blocklist.
- Block this domain adds the domain to the blocklist.
There is no one-email bypass. The allowlist and blocklist remain the source of truth for sender policy.
What happens after a policy change
Changing a sender or domain rule causes affected emails that are already waiting on sender policy to rerun their current validation checks. The policy action does not tell those emails to pass or fail; each email recomputes against the current rules. If all blocking checks pass, attachment processing starts automatically. If another check still fails, the email remains where it needs attention.
The banner shows a processing message while validation or attachment analysis is running, then updates to the next stable state.
Reprocess a blocked email
Blocked is a sticky terminal state. A later allowlist edit does not silently reopen old blocked email.
- If the sender or domain is still blocked, choose Trust, select the scope, and confirm. Clerked updates the policy and explicitly starts a new processing generation for this email.
- If an administrator already fixed the underlying rule, choose Reprocess to run the email through current validation again.
Other blocked emails stay blocked until someone explicitly reprocesses each one. This prevents a broad policy edit from unexpectedly creating old invoices.
Review attachments independently
After the email-level checks pass, each processable attachment has its own decision. Open an attachment and choose Not an invoice, This is an invoice, or These are multiple invoices. A proposed multi-invoice split is pre-populated in the page editor and requires human confirmation unless your administrator explicitly enables automatic multi-partition processing.
Changing an attachment decision can cancel the invoices created by the previous decision before the replacement is applied. If an existing invoice has reached a lifecycle state that cannot be cancelled safely, the action is disabled and the banner explains why.
