Configure validation actions

Use the Validation checks page to choose what Clerked does when a configurable check finds an issue.

Who can do this

You need the Manage validation checks permission, company:validation:manage.

Before you start

Decide which result should warn a reviewer, require review, or stop the catalog-defined operation. Not every check supports every action.

Configure a check

  1. Select Settings in the left navigation.
  2. Select Configurations.
  3. Select Validation checks.
  4. Find the check under Email ingestion, Attachment review, Email processing, or Document processing.
  5. Select the required choice under Action when found.
  6. Update any available values under Fine-tuning.
  7. Select Save in the action bar.

What you should see

The page keeps the saved choice for that check. Its action is one of the choices allowed by the catalog:

  • Off does not route the result for review.
  • Warn shows the result for a reviewer.
  • Review requires a person to review the result.
  • Block stops the operation defined by that check.

Block is not an email-only action. It can appear for an email, invoice, or export check when the catalog allows it. Some runtime-managed hard blocks are not configurable and do not appear as editable rows.

If something goes wrong

  • If Validation checks is missing, ask an administrator to confirm that you have Manage validation checks.
  • If an action is unavailable, the catalog does not allow that action for the check.
  • If Save is unavailable, make a valid change or correct a fine-tuning value first.
  • If a saved change does not appear, reload the page. If it is still missing, contact your Clerked contact or support.
